He was predeceased by: his siblings, John Gerlt, Ruby Gerlt and Tiny Greer. He is survived by: his spouse Dorothy Welch; his children, Darrell Gerlt and Lana Shively (Billy) of Marshall; his grandchildren, Rita Shaw (Adam), Michael Shively (Jaryn), Brenda Koob (James), Kristen Hayes (Chay), Amanda Smith (Josh) and Darrell Joseph Gerlt; his great grandchildren, Charli Gerlt, Mattalie, Telynn Shaw, James Tyler, Brielle Koob, Lane, Briar and Bennett Smith; and his siblings, Virginia Pugh, Glendola Sestak and Melvin Gerlt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
