He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Herd and Eva Mae Herd (Vanmeter); his wife Linda; and his siblings, Troy Herd, Alta Snearley and Freda Cockram.
He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Allen Herd of Marionville, Missouri and Doug Herd of Marionville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Chelsea Loveland (Joel) of Marshfield, Parker Herd of Mt. Vernon, Payton Herd of Aurora, Hannah Herd of Republic, Preston Herd of Aurora and Atticus Herd of Nixa, Missouri; and his sister Leta Tabor (Bill) of St. Louis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
