“I worked with Gary in Colorado in the early 1980s, and we played a lot of music together as part of the Shadow Mountain Boys. Gary brought a genuine Southern/Midwestern feel to our music, and did some fine singing as well. Although I only saw him once after that, we kept in contact over the years. He was a gentleman and a good friend, and will be remembered fondly. Michael Horan”
