He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred H. Farris and Vera O. Farris (Standley); his son Kenneth Duane; his siblings, Jeanne Hackworth, Fred and Kenneth Farris; his sister-in-law Lucy Edgar; his brother Dale; his sisters-in-law, Eileen Edgar and Ruby Edgar; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Maude Edgar.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elizabeth Edgar; his uncle Jimbo; his daughter Melinda Leigh of Shelbyville; his siblings, Louise Rhoads of Benton and David of Kansas City; his brother-in-law Dean Edgar of Marceline; his grandchildren, Bryce Stella of Shelbyville, Christian Farris (Bobbi) of Kansas City, Jason Stella (Molly) of Louisville, Shelby McGuire (Richard) of Lee's Summit and Jill Harp (Cody) of Lexington, Kentucky.; and his great grandchildren, Macey Cavanah, Coraline Stella and Zoe Stella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
