He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Fields and Ruth Fields (Smith); his son Roger; his brother J. W. Jelks; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Bell and Jim Darden; and his nephew Chuck Fields.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Tim, Blake, Zach, Kyle and Seth; his great grandchildren, Cameron, Hudson, Scarlett, Jocelyn, Lilianna, Autumn, Addison and Maverick; and his siblings, Wilma Bell, Bob (Susan), Ted (Jean) and Jim (Wanda).
