He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shields and Alice Shields (Camden); and his grandparents, Norbert Camden, Opal Camden, William Alexander Shields and Beulah Shields.
He is survived by: his wife Jolande (Rucinski); his son William Gary Shields III; his daughter-in-law Shawna Shields (Sheperdson); and his sisters, Alicia Keaskowski (Shields), Candy Shields and Dani Rogers (Shields). He is also survived by spouses and many nieces and a nephews.
