She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Nyman and Marie Nyman (Bullis); her husband Martin Vlietstra; her daughters, Debra Lynn Vlietstra, Susan and Sharon Vlietstra; and her brother Rod Nyman.
She is survived by: her children, Martin Vlietstra (Glenda) of Mansfield, David Vlietstra (Cornelia) of Diggins, Janice Valkenburg (Jim) of Pinconning, Jonathan Vlietstra (Jane) of Elkhart Lake, Karen VanSeters (Rick) of Grand Rapids, Roger Vlietstra (Beverly) of Washington, Linda Velier (Jay) of Rogersville, Daniel Vlietstra (Dawn) of Dorr, Paul Vlietstra (Wendy) of Mansfield and Steven Vlietstra (Stephanie) of Alto, Michigan; her sister Charlotte Rieder of Fordland, Missouri; and her parents-in-law, Wilma Vander Waal, Alice Vlietstra, Fred, Sue Vlietstra, Walt and Joan Heerschap. She is also survived by forty-eight grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
