He was predeceased by: his son Shawn Marvin Summers; his grandson Andrew Mitchell Summers; and his significant other Nancy Kay Callaway. He is survived by: his spouse Darlene Marie Bufka; his sons, Brian Matthew Summers of Malta Bend, Malta Bend of Malta Bend and Kirk Mitchell Summers of Malta Bend; his siblings, Beverly Richtermeyer (Herb) of Grand Pass, Elson Summers (Colleen) of Higginsville, Sylvia Summers Lane (Gerald) of Woodridge, IL and Dan Summers (Lynda) of Buckner; and also, Bridget and Brooke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a college education fund that has been established for Sam's granddaughters, Bridget and Brooke, in care of Beverly Richtermeyer, or Malta Bend United Methodist Church.
