He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simmons and Maxine Goode Simmons; and his siblings, Larry Simmons and Mary Lou Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Scott Simmons of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Gerri Ann Simmons of Kennett, Missouri; his sister Shirley Harris of Dexter, Missouri; his grandchildren, Tristan Simmons of Oklahoma and Sydney Patrick of Kennett; and his great grandchildren, Achilles Simmons and Milo Simmons.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mathis Funeral Home - Bernie (113 W Crumb Ave, Bernie, MO 63822). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
