He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Johnson and Jessie Pugh; his sons, Jerome Jones and Terry Jones; his stepdaughter Deanna Harris; and his siblings, John Albert Johnson, Henry Taylor and Emma Kelly.

He is survived by: his granddaughter Airreiona Robinson; his wife Sylvia Ann Harris Robinson; his children, Tyrone Rand, Alvin Rand, Michael Richardson, Felicia Harris and Gena Robinson; and his sister Martha Johnson. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
