He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Hayes and Clara Mae Hayes (Hepworth); his sister Dolores Ratliff; his brothers-in-law, Marvin Ratliff and Gene; his sons, Don Parrish, Tommy Thompson and Ramon Shaver; and his sister-in-law Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Hayes; his sons, Danny Hayes (Gerri) of Macon and Steve Hayes (Teresa) of Macon; his grandchildren, Jerod Hayes (Julie) of Macon, Jeff Hayes (Andy) of Columbia, MO, Stevie Hayes (Jed Lea) of Macon, Brittany Hayes of Macon and Amber Hayes of Macon; his great grandchildren, Justin Hayes (Marlana), Jaley Hayes, Hattie Hayes, Clara Hayes, Jase Corwin, Hank Lea, Eleena Lea, Kaydance Hayes and Maddox Hayes; his nieces and nephews, Dennis Ratliff (Kim), Kent Shaver (Terri), Sherri Gregory (Dave), Jeanie DeBolt (Nick), Mike Parrish (Elaine), Dana Moffett (Byron), Janis Bell (Joe), Charles Parrish (Karen) and Monica; and his sisters-in-law, Norma Gibbins and Annette Shaver.
