He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Wait and Opal Wait (Stull); his former wife Alberta Fern Souther; his sisters, Velma Jones and Leola Staley; his brothers-in-law, Reese Jones and Bill Staley; and his great grandchild Kambryn Peukert.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Frances "Fran" Petre; his children, Pam Jones (Philip) of New Cambria, MO and Calvin Wait (Susie) of Ethel, MO; his stepchildren, Jim Nelson (Melodee) of Atlanta, MO, Judy Littrell (Lindsay) of New Cambria, MO and Dan Nelson (Rhonda) of Atlanta, MO; his grandchildren, Cheryl Switzer (Breene McQuitty) of Macon, MO, Shane Jones (Greg Allen) of St. Louis, MO, Ryan Jones (Shanna) of New Cambria, MO, Jesse Wait of Macon, MO, Michelle Wait (Sanjan Reddy) of Alameda, CA, Alex Wait (Jing) of Portland, OR, Chase Wait of Atlanta, MO, Garrett Blaise of Macon, MO and Kaleb Wait of Iowa; his stepgrandchildren, Kim Nelson of Atlanta, MO, Mandi Stark (Mark) of Kansas City, MO, Jamee Beach (Chris) of Leonard, MO, Franni Smith (Jared) of Shelbina, MO, Corey Pryor (Ericka) of Atchison, KS, Kyle Pryor (Amy) of Macon, MO, Nick Littrell (Elizabeth) of Jefferson City, MO, Tabitha Thompson (Brett) of Camdenton, MO, Justin Nelson (Crystal) of Atlanta, MO and Falisha Linscott of Weir, KS; and his great grandchildren, Charley Wait, Edward Wait, Maksyn Jones, Maizley Jones, Chance Bailey, Carla Jean Switzer and Cailyn Ray Switzer. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center of Columbia, MO at the time of service.
