He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Scott and Margaret Jane Hering (Pouge); and his sister Kathy Herman. He is survived by: his children, Jessica Hess (Chris) of Fort Collins, CO and Stephen Scott (Kelly) of Chicago, IL; and his grandchildren, Thomson, Henson and Parson June Hess.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of America.
