Charlene Pontius Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlene Pontius of Macon, Missouri, who passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Marsh and Nellie Marsh (Anderson); her friend Gwendolyn Smith; her husbands, John Burkhardt and Charles Pontius; her sisters, Marjorie Garrison and Betty Dennis; and her stepdaughter Ruth Trammell.
She is survived by: her children, John Kent Burkhardt (Vicki) of Centralia, MO and Cindy Burkhardt Scott (Joe) of Rolla, MO.; her stepchildren, Mike Pontius of Palmyra, MO and Laura Jane Turner of Lee's Summit, MO; her friend Ardith Simpson; and her brother Larry Marsh (Kim) of Florissant, MO. She is also survived by her children, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Carousel Productions or Maples Repertory Theatre.
