He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Nelson and Ida Nelson (Shunk); and his siblings, Jim Nelson, Charles Nelson, Harold Nelson and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Nelson (Debbie) of Moberly, MO, Greg Nelson (Troy Snellen) of Columbia, MO, Robbie Nelson (Kim) of Wentzville, MO, Chris Nelson (Rona) of Macon, MO and Katie Nelson of Macon, MO; and his close friend Donna Hartung. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Macon Senior Center or Oakwood Cemetery.
