He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Willis and Gertie Willis; his daughter Donna; and his siblings, Oral and William (Bud).

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Canon; his sister Marjorie Teer; his sons, Brian (Paula) and Gary; and his grandchildren, Alex (Mary Kate), Megan Chikuru (Beni) and Brad. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
