He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Montgomery Garst and Carrie Emmaline Snider Garst; his wife Donna Marie Caldwell Garst; his son Randy Lee Garst; his grandson Cory James Craft; his great grandchild Jaylynn Marie Eckert; and his sister Dorothy Garst Sleep.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Craft (Jeff) of Chillicothe and Charlotte Remagen (Tim) of Lawson; his grandchildren, Zack Craft (Tabatha) of Gower, Tiffany Eckert (Randy) of Chula and Cole Remagen of Lawson; and his sister Edna Charlotte Morse of Gladstone. He is also survived by 9 great- grandchildren.
