It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Smoot of Louisiana, Missouri, born in Hillview, Illinois, who passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Swisher and Henry Swisher of River's Edge Motel; her former husband William Ross Phillips; her husband Samuel Smoot; and her son William Michael Phillips.

She is survived by: her daughter Cynthia Louise Phillips of Goodyear Arizona; her grandchildren, Phillip Shulsky, Keith Shulsky, Rachel Barcala and Adam Maxwell; her stepdaughter Debbie Harris of Troy Missouri; her children, Tina Ewalt-Schulze, Traci Ewalt and Travis Harris; and also, Ron Smoot of Shelbina Missouri, Carrie Stanley, Doug Smoot and Aaron Smoot. She is also survived by great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, MO.
