He was predeceased by: his parents, Ora E. Fortner and Maxine C. Fortner (Luce); and his brother Bob Fortner. He is survived by: his son Matt Fortner of Belle; his grandchildren, Levi Ora Fortner and Eliana Rose Fortner; his sister Mary Ann Kelley (David) of Springfield; and his sister-in-law Loretta Fortner of Wentzville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
