He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Ruettgers and Sybilla Ruettgers (Puetz); his wife Anna Marie Werner; his son Ray Ruettgers; his sister Mae Boyd; his brothers-in-law, Norman Boyd, Sr., Robert Werner and Pete Radmacher; his nephew Nolan Schroeder; and his niece Joyce Norberg.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Ruettgers (Mel), Paul Ruettgers (Dottie), Dave Ruettgers (Ann), Jerry Ruettgers (Lisa), Ed Ruettgers (Tammy), Mary Luebbert (Dave), Rose Kowieski (Chuck) and Jim Ruettgers (Julie); his sister Grace Radmacher; and his parents-in-law, Don, Darlene Werner, Eldora Werner (Frank Hurst), Doris and Charles Schroeder. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
