He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hampson and Mary Hampson; and his brothers, John Richard Hampson, Rick Hampson and Patrick B. Hampson.

He is survived by: his children, Becky Hampson, John Maxwell, Candy J. Fields and Michael Murphy of Lonedell, MO; his former wife Regina Hampson of Lonedell; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Jeffries-Murphy of Lake, Kami of Luebbering, Emma of Luebbering, Anna of Luebbering, Cassie of Luebbering, Katelynn of Luebbering, Dalton Fields of Luebbering, Jordyn Hampson of Luebbering and Carrick Maxwell of Luebbering; his sister-in-law Mary Hampson of Perryville, MO; and also Reid. He is also survived by one uncle, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
