He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice (Boehne) and August; his son-in-law Troy Hudspeth; and his brother-in-law Richard Arnold. He is survived by: his children, Valerie Hudspeth (Schilling), David Schilling and Darren Schilling (Doug); his grandchildren, Andrew Hudspeth, Jason Hudspeth (Henry), Jarica Oeltjen (Phil) and Brooke Schafer (Ryan); his great grandchild August; his sister Carolyn Arnold; and his nephews, Craig Arnold (Shelly) and Kurt Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
