He was predeceased by: his parents, George Helmig and Blanch Helmig (Carwile); his daughter Donna June; and his siblings, Inez Higgins, Ted Helmig, Henry Helmig, Larry Helmig and Lena Helmig.
He is survived by: his children, Lola Berendzen (Gail), Sherry Bax (Adlai), Kim Rademan (Bernie), Lorna Helmig, Dana Helmig and Paul Helmig; and his sisters, Bernice Kloeppel and Delorce Sallin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
