He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sr. Nilges and Lena Nilges (Voss); and his siblings, Albert, Gene, Raymond Nilges and Judy Kaullen.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Marie Edwards; his children, Randy Nilges (Lori Stiefermann) of Cuba, Robert Nilges (Linda) of Jefferson City, Lisa Burks (Dave) of Jefferson City and Lori Hughes (Rodney) of Jefferson City; his sister Lena Mae Foster of Linn; his siblings-in-law, Bill Kaullen of Linn, Bob Edwards of St. James, Joyce Nilges of Jefferson City and Ann Fick of Colorado Springs, CO; his grandchildren, Kati, Zach, Leah, Joseph Nilges, Kayla Mittelhauser (Davis), David Nilges, Joey Nilges, Lauren Sprague (Michael), Angela Randolph (Jeff), Kaley Ash (Tyler), Maggie Hughes, Nick, Lauren Alexander and Max Hughes; and his close friend Allie. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews.
