Charles Dial Obituary
Dr. Charles Leroy Dial, age 74, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Charles was born on July 23, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Charles Alfanzo Dial and Reba (Reynolds) Dial.
He spent his childhood living in Illinois, graduating from the Western Military Academy. In 1969, he was enlisted into the United States Air Force and served until 1972. After his Service, Charles continued his education, eventually obtaining his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. In 1995, he relocated to Missouri where he continued to practice as a podiatrist in Camdenton, Missouri.
On December 31, 2001, Charles was united in marriage to Marlene Kauffman in Linn Creek, Missouri. They shared nearly 25 years together at the time of his passing.
Charles had a big heart, and his family meant the world to him. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, rock and blues music, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved animals, especially his dogs Erica and Kyra, and his cat Boomer. He could be found most days sitting on his deck enjoying his view of the lake.
Charles had a fun-loving personality and lived life to the fullest on his own terms. He will be remembered for his tenacity, candid opinions, and quick wit.
Charles is survived by his wife Marlene Dial; two sons, Geoffrey (Erin) Dial and Casey (Lydia) Dial; two stepsons, Jake (Kaitlynn) Young and Richie (Brittany Rogers) Smith; grandchildren Nicholas, Brendan, and Ronin; and step-grandchildren Logan, Heidi, Landon, Alex, Zachary, Ayveri, Eli, Brooklynn, and Maverick.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles Alfanzo and Reba Dial; and stepson Eric Eugene Young.
A graveside service honoring the life of Dr. Charles Leroy Dial will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 1:00pm at Hedges Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the family to help with funeral expenses.
