He was predeceased by: his parents, William Kennard and Emma Mae Butler. He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret Butler; his sister Eddie Jane Dean; his son-in-law Brian; his grandson Ryan; his children, Kevin Butler and Michele (Brian); his siblings, Juanita Mae Highfill and Larry Dean Butler; and his grandchildren, Kyle (Michelle), Jamie (Jess), Ingrid Butler, Brennan Fry and Brandon Fry.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home (1720 South St, Lexington, MO 64067). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
