He was predeceased by: his father Roy Francis "Buster"; and his great-nephew Christopher Brian Burstert, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Jean Burstert (Brooks) of Richmond; his siblings, Brian Burstert (Kipper) of Richmond and Melanie Schreier (Kevin) of Lexington; and his nieces and nephews, Joshua Burstert (Abby), Christopher Burstert (Chelsea), Allie Edwards (Chris), Courtney Chaney (David), Stephanie Brockhaus (Kyle) and Haylee Schreier. He is also survived by other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends of the Farris Theatre.
