Herbert E. Childress Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Herbert E. Childress of Lewistown, Missouri, born in Arbela, Missouri, who passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin "Herb" Childress and Pauline Stevenson Childress; his son Jerad Childress; and his brother-in-law Kevin Shults. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Childress of Lewistown, MO; his sons, Christopher Childress (Monica) of Collierville, TN and Nathan Childress (Amanda) of Lewistown, MO.; his grandchildren, Caleb, Dalton, Bradyn, Asher, Reece and Adley Childress; and his sisters, Joyce Logan (John) of Ewing, MO, Kitty Shults of Ewing, MO, Veda Shults of Lewistown, MO and Pamela Childress of Canton, MO. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Lewistown Appreciation Day or to the Durham Cemetery Association.
