He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thele and Mathilda Thele (Koenig); his stepson Michael Stevens; his siblings, Bill Thele (Slim), Rich Thele, Jake Thele, Harry Thele, Marcella Jentsch, Juletta Thele, Gerlene Trentham and Imogene Carter; and his former wives, Nettie Surface and Shirley Bollinger.
He is survived by: his children, John W. Thele, Jeff Thele (Michele), Tim Thele (April), Jimmy Thele (Crystal), Cindy Thele, Tracy Bragg (Jon) and Ashley Thompson (Jason); his stepchildren, Daphne Allen (Billy), Sheree Daniels, Kam Bounds and Randy Ratcliff; and his siblings, Bob Thele, Kenny Thele, Judy Stause and Elevlyn Connor (Boss). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
