He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Cook-Schnell and John Voyles Jr. (Diane); his wife Stella Voyles; his children, David Voyles Jr., Becky Voyles and Michelle Voyles; his granddaughter Heather Voyles; his siblings, Pam Monks, Kevin Voyles (Bonnie), Becky Conaway (Sonny), Teresa Dean, Debbie Trudell (Mack), Herb Schnell (Debbie), Johnny Voyles (Terri), Ronnie Voyles (Rhonda), Rodney Voyles and Carla Duncan; his nephews, Chuck and Michael; and his niece Belinda.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family in David's Honor.
