It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Wheatley of Leeton, Missouri, who passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, James shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid James farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Wheatley and Lula Mae Wheatley (Tinker). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Wheatley; his sons, Robert "Buck" Wheatley (Teresa) of Hamilton, Montana and Phillip John Escareno (Susan) of Garden City, Kansas; and his sister Della Jo of Springfield Missouri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many dear friends and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Leeton Christian Church (201 E Summerfield Ave, Leeton, MO 64761). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mineral Creek Cemetery (525 N Lee St, Leeton, MO 64761).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Leeton and left in care of the funeral home.
