He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Lynde and Irene Lynde (Chism); and his brothers, Bob Lynde and Jim Lynde. He is survived by: his wife Carol Lynde of Leeton; his sons, Robert Lynde of Leeton and William Lynde (Dana); his grandson Connor; his sister Judy Baker of Lecanto, Florida; and his aunts, Ilene Saxton (Chism) of Kansas City and Eilene Chism (Garske) of Timonium, Maryland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
