It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Yvonne Haynes of Lees Summit, Missouri, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Frank Maynard Floyd and Mildred Faye Matherly; her husband C. Lloyd Haynes; her children, Larry Haynes (Nancy) of Lee's Summit, MO and Linda Haynes Gupta (Yohanne) of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Amy Haynes of Kansas City, MO, Andrew Haynes (Joanna) of Charlotte, NC and Sebastian Gupta of Houston, TX; her great grandchildren, Harry and Archie Haynes of Charlotte, NC; and her brother Richard Floyd of Lee's Summit, MO.. She was also cherished by several dogs inherited from Lloyd's mother, in addition to numerous cats.
Because of restrictions in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private family grave site service will be held.
The family requests no flowers. Shirley's love for animals and the recent cold weather in her beloved South Padre Island, TX, make the non-profit Sea Turtle, Inc a worthy cause for donation.
