He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Thompson of Lee's Summit, Missouri; his children, Erin Fawcett (Jud) of Burlington, Sarah Temps (Shelby) of Marysville and Christopher Thompson (Natasha) of Tucson, Arizona; his grandsons, Ross Fawcett, Noah Thompson, Liam Fawcett, Owen Fawcett, Sean Thompson and Levi Temps; and his brothers, David Thompson of Phoenix and Jason Thompson of Marshall, Wisconsin..

Rick absolutely LOVED animals and always believed in second chances, so in lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
