It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Sullivan Mathews Sr. of Lees Summit, Missouri, born in Osceola, Missouri, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, John, Robert, Tyke, Frank and Dan; and his son-in-law David Wise.

He is survived by: his wife Julia; his children, Jeanie Mathews (Steve Updegraff), Dick Mathews (Terry) and Rindy Mathews Wise; his grandchildren, Michael Garcia (Lindsay), David Garcia (Kim), Ky Schneiweis (Brian), Kasey Miller (Kyle), Chuck Wise (Cathy) and Jayme Brown; and his great grandchildren, Brody, Addison, Jonathan, Julia, Marie, Emma, Cheyenne, Paige, Alyvia, Joseph, Austin and Hayle.
