He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Rhoades and Irene Rhoades (Cunningham). He is survived by: his siblings, Bill Rhoades, Helen Harris (Homer) and Betty Ritz (Leroy); his son Thomas Rhoades; his grandson Derek Rhoades; his wife Patricia Rhoades; his children, Diane Cox (Kevin) and Jeff Rhoades (Paula); his daughter-in-law Lisa Rhoades; his grandchildren, Justin Rhoades (Rachel), Tricia Hall (Matt), Emily Oxendine (Brian), Jennifer Rhoades, Jessica Rhoades and Brian Cox (Trever Sissel); his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Elena Rhoades, Colton, Madelyn Hall, Daisy and Violet Oxendine; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Watson and Norma Rhoades.
