With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Gene Welch (Lees Summit, Missouri), who passed away on February 18, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Gordon G. Brown and Chloe Lentell; her children, Gayle Gene (Donald C. Welch) and Dennis Gene Bernhart; and her son-in-law Richard Findley.

She is survived by: her daughter Terry Findley; her daughter-in-law Charlene Bernhart; her granddaughter Danielle Crawford (Robert); her great grandchildren, Nico Mundo and Nina Smith (Braden); her great great grandchildren, Stormi and Sophia Smith; and also, Stacye (Jean Marc), Mouchel, David Welch (Delia), Kelly Chuma, Craig Welch (Vicki) and Richard Welch (Denise).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: Lee's Summit Christian Church, Rainbow Acres (Camp Verde, AZ), Child Haven (Las Vegas, NV).

“Gene was such an important part of my life. I could never repay her for the wisdom or love she poured into me. To her I was more than a house keeper and she was so much more than a client. She was the love and encourag I never had and a support of going and staying in school. I think she cried happy tears with me every degree i got and even harder this year when I shared I got my license. I will miss her so much. To her family I am so sorry for this loss as she was so special and its so hard.”
