He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bennett and Edith Bennett; his sister Laneta Belk; and his son Brett Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Carol Bennett; his sons, Tyler Bennett (Sherri Bennett) of Lee's Summit and Erik Bennett (Alicia Huffman) of Cary, NC.; his grandchildren, Aubrey Cahill (Devon), Austin Bennett, Jacob Hamilton and Abby Hamilton; and his great grandchildren, Alivia and Colson Cahill.
