She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Gemmiel Faulkner and Jennie Irene Moody Faulkner; her husband Gene Oliver Heaton; her son Thomas Jay Heaton; and her siblings, Willis McMichael and Ila Kelley.

She is survived by: her children, James Heaton (Jackie) of Warrensburg and Anne Millam (David) of Lee's Summit; and her brother-in-law Wayne Heaton (Barbara). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
