He was predeceased by: his parents, James Byrd and Ruth Byrd (Hammond); his grandson Austin Hatton; and his brothers, Claude, Cordell, Richard and Harold "Benny" Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Terrel of Leasburg; his children, Michelle Hatton of Leasburg and Justin Byrd (Brandi) of Bourbon; and his grandsons, Travis Hatton and Seth Byrd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
