He is survived by: his pet Buddy; his children, Gary (Connie), Richard, Danny Smith and Terry Johnson (Jamie); his grandchildren, Candi Jo Smith, Jennifer Barnes (late Steve Barnes), Curtis Smith (Christy), Chris Smith (Karla), Misty Smith (Corey), Jim, Olivia Smith, April Richardson and Beth Davis; his brother Junior Smith (Nella Jo); and his in-laws, Bill Richardson (Linda), Cheryl Lawson (Harlin), Candy Palmer (Bruce) and Rick Richardson (Linda). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
