He was predeceased by : his mother Gladys Faye Hon (Shankles); and his grandchildren, Ashley, Callie, Cameron and Caleb.

He is survived by : his father Richard Donald Hon, Sr.; his wife Diane Hon; his children, Lori Nelson (Mathias), Ben Hon (Heather) and Tim Hon; his grandchildren, Tanner, Kaylee, Dalton, Gunnar, Hunter, Fisher, Piper, Cole, Clayton and Cora; and his sister Debbie Bledsoe (Bob). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
