He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Thornton and Maida June Thornton (Evans); his sisters, Carol Madorin and Glenda Cole; his stepfather Bill Morris; and his grandson Brycen.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Swoboda (Halberstadt) of Excelsior Springs, MO; his children, Jason Thornton (Nicki Franklin) of Kansas City, MO and Melissa Thornton (Christopher Costello) of Lathrop, MO; his grandchildren, Kaytlen, Hayden, Aryanna, Zayne, Luke and Malia; his stepmother Mary Morris; and his siblings, Don Thornton (Jan) of Sedalia, MO, Dennis Thornton (Karen) of Sedalia, MO, Randall Thornton of Sedalia, MO, Rick Grimes (Terri) of Ottumwa, IA, Judith Conklin of Lawson, MO and Rhonda Ahern (Nate) of Sedalia, MO.. He is also survived by his family and friends.
