It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Rakestraw of Lamar, Missouri, who passed away on February 4, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Rakestraw and Thelma Bennet Rakestraw; his siblings, Howard, Lois, Nancy and Jack; and his children, Carol Hackney Rakestraw and Stan Butler.
He is survived by: his former wife Carol Lee Hackney of Lamar; his wife Maxine Harper Rakestraw of Joplin; his children, Toni Rakestraw of Bella Vista, AR, Dana Rakestraw of Kansas City, MO and J. D. Rakestraw (Rich Fletcher) of Bella Vista, AR; his grandchildren, Audra White of The Hague, Netherlands, Sarah Trapani (Daniel) of Cheyenne, WY, Jenna Dail (Michael) of Springfield, MO, Jaelyn Hartley (Bryce) of Springfield, MO, Aaron Butler of Kansas City, MO, Jace Rakestraw and Abraham Lincoln; his great grandchildren, Vivian, Olivia van Mierlo of The Hague and Abigail Trapani of Cheyenne, WY; and his brother-in-law Gerald Hughley of Pryor, OK. He is also survived by children, grand-children and many friends.
