He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Lou Garner; his children, Donald Garner, Jr. (Therese), Sherry Garner Elcox (Bob), Joel Garner (Natalie), Michelle Garner Nedry (Geoff) and Marilyn Garner Irwin (Kelly); his stepchildren, Jeff Moore (Penny) and Debbie Moore Winn; his grandchildren, Nicholas Moore (Brittany), Zachary Garner, Kelsey Garner, Molly Garner, Benjamin Garner, Ashley Tyree (Devon), Amanda Elcox, Julia Garner, Lucy Garner, Alexander Nedry, Rachel Nedry, Taylor Irwin, Lauren Irwin and Kristine Irwin; his stepgrandsons, Mitchell Winn and Travis Winn; his great grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Brielle Tyree and Gavin Tyree; his sister Sonja Kay Garner Howerton (Harlin); his great-niece Lydia Howerton-Jahrling (Mike); and also Terry Howerton (Linda).

Memorials may be made in Donald's name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
