He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschel C. Messmer and Ethel F. Messmer; his sister Frances Evelyn McCombs; and his daughter-in-law Bonnette Messmer. He is survived by: his wife Sally (Sally); his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Kristine Messmer of Lake St; his son Kurt Messmer of Manhattan, KS; his grandchildren, Meghan Bernhardt (Jonathan) of St. Charles, MO, Andrew (Lydia Messmer) of Edgerton, WI, Luke Messmer of Manhattan, KS, Mariah Messmer Reyes (Israel) of Altemonte Springs, FL and Blake Messmer of Lake St; and his great grandchildren, Graham Kent Bernhardt, Jonas Michael Bernhardt and Rilee Kristine Messmer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
