He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Adam Sr. and Veva Bernice Scott (Potter); his son Joseph Adam Scott III; and his sisters, Mary Scott Vertin and Cleobel Scott Farber (Scottie).

He is survived by: his friends, Larry Barnthson of Troy, KS and Phil Benitz of Wathena, KS; his wife Ginger Scott; his daughter Laura Scott Campbell (Paul) of Bates City, MO; his grandchildren, Joseph and Mahala Campbell; and his sister Beverly Scott Chambers (Scottie) of Savannah, MO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
