He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Elmer and Elizabeth Eunice Gorman Erdel; his son Gene Trower; and his brother Lee Douglas Erdel. He is survived by: his daughters, Beth Whelan (Philip) of Monroe City and Peggy Davidson (Jimmy) of Paris; and his sister Bonnie Berrey of Monroe City.
