With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Leon Mitchell (La Plata, Missouri), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lawrence and Faye Alberta Nihiser Mitchell; his former wife Frances Jean McGrath; his siblings, Lawrence Mitchell and Carol Mitchell Almond; his son James Steven Mitchell; and his grandson Trevor Leon Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Donna, Dennis (Tammy) and Carolyn (Len); and his stepdaughters, Yvonne (Larry) and Renee. He is also survived by six grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Travis Funeral Chapel (125 S Church St, La Plata, MO 63549).
