He is survived by: his wife Patsy Bruer; his son Monty; his daughter-in-law Jan Eitel of Topeka, Kansas; his daughters, Carla (Phillip Worley) and Paige (David Carroll); his brother Lavon; his sister-in-law Jackie Eitel of La Plata, Missouri; his grandchildren, Michelle (Andrew Downard), Gabrielle Worley, Brianna, Kaleb and Micah Carroll; his nephews, Andy, Todd and Sheldon Eitel; his niece Vonna Scholzen; and his cousin Norma Grubbs.

Memorials in memory of David may be made to Hospice of Northeast Missouri or to the First Baptist Church of La Plata, Missouri.
